Failure at Stonehenge
Posted in Uncategorized on January 11th, 1979The anniversaries of your various visits slide by.
I am warm with luck, remembering.
Yet your absence is a cold blast
Which mauls me in its grip
Till all my energy is used for
Shivering and
Damning my own vulnerability.
I lift the cloak of gratitude
To protect me from the insults of the wind,
But rationalizations make the cloak heavy
And it falls,
As I slip on the ice of self-pity, a glacier
To which the sum of wholeness has not returned.
