Interlude
Posted in Uncategorized on June 16th, 1979We lay in the grass, silent,
In the middle of a placid park in the middle
Of a burnt out town in the midst of
A warring world.
Away, away, away
From stress, demands, duty,
I was an unpostured child again
And he my mother, returning me to
That sweet womb, the earth.
Our clock was the sun,
As dusk chilled the ground, which called us back
To structures and schedules.
Our only regret was the grass stains on my shorts.
